Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a prominent public commentator, Deji Adeyanju, on Thursday said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to recruit its members as ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

TheLead reports that INEC last week announced the launch of the portal for the recruitment of staff for the 2023 general election. The application will close on November 30.

“Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is shouting Atiku Abubakar is coming when we all can see he’s not coming anywhere as APC plot to recruit their members as INEC Adhoc staff in the 22 states they control.

“This plan is currently in motion as the different branches of the opposition seek to teach each other a lesson,” Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle.

The current party affiliation of the 36 state governors is: 22 All Progressive Congress (APC); 13 PDP; and 1 All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The APC states are Borno, Cross River, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Plateau, Yobe, and Zamfara.
