Several reactions have trailed the presidential declaration of the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.
The former vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had declared interest to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Obi declared his ambition while addressing traditional rulers at the Anambra State Government conference hall Agu- Awka, Anambra State.
According to Peter Obi, his decision to declare his ambition before traditional rulers was done to get royal blessings.
The former Anambra Governor said Nigeria is at the lowest ebb and needed somebody like him to move it forward.
While stating that he is in the presidential race to move Nigeria forward, Peter Obi insisted that he believes strongly in one united Nigeria.
Reacting to Obi’s presidential declaration, Nigerians took to Twitter to express their views regarding the development.

Peter Obi is not your regular politician. He still respects Atiku as his boss and leader.
This is a politician that calculates, he knows if he is to win, he needs unity for him to do so.
I wish him the best and will support whatever he does. pic.twitter.com/Kbdi5CO95V

Peter Obi left Obiano with a headstart, while Obiano left Soludo with a drawback. This is a classic example of “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times”

Peter Obi a father of modern politics
1). He consulted without the media
2). He did not rush to declare his intentions, he took his time
3). He attended his Boss declaration a day before his own
4). He went to his home state to declare (as it should be)#PeterObiDeclares
