Peter Obi, the frontline presidential contender for 2023, prayed for his followers on Saturday in Abuja.
The Labour Party is led by the previous governor of Anambra State (LP).
His adherents, known as Obidients, shut down many main routes in the Central Area, including the Federal Secretariat and others.
The walk by thousands of residents caused traffic in certain areas of the nation’s capital.
Obi, who is now in Kano State for a ceremony, said he was following the march via a tweet.
“From Kano, I am watching the Obidients gathered in Abuja and exercising their Constitutional rights to peaceful assembly.
“I salute you all. I appreciate you all. God bless you all and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, he wrote.
