Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Chelsea will field their strongest available line-up against Djurgården in the second leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final, with young striker Marc Guiu edging closer to a return from injury.

The teenage Spaniard, sidelined since February after sustaining an injury during the home win over West Ham, could even be included in the matchday squad for tomorrow evening’s tie at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea welcome the Swedish side to SW6 holding a commanding 4–1 advantage from the first leg in Stockholm, where goals from Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke, and a Nicolas Jackson brace provided a solid foundation.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Maresca provided a positive fitness update:
“We don’t have any new injuries. This is good for us. Everyone is fit, and Marc Guiu could even be involved in tomorrow’s squad. We’re not sure yet — we’ll make a decision, but he’s very close.”

The manager hinted that Guiu may need a few more days of training before making a full return, but his progress is encouraging.

“It may be better for Marc to have a bit more time, but he’s nearly there. That’s good news for us and for him.”

Despite Chelsea’s strong position, Maresca was clear that no complacency will be allowed to creep in. He reaffirmed that his selection would reflect the importance of securing a place in the final.

“Tomorrow is the game. That is our focus,” Maresca said.
“Of course, playing again 48 hours later on Sunday at midday against Newcastle is far from ideal. There’s little time to recover, but this is the reality when you’re competing on multiple fronts.”

He recalled a similar scenario last week when the squad returned from Sweden in the early hours before preparing for a Sunday fixture. Nonetheless, his focus remains firmly on finishing the job against Djurgården.

While keeping his cards close to his chest regarding team selection, Maresca was clear: whatever side takes to the pitch, it will be one capable of delivering the result.
