New Chelsea FC manager Liam Rosenior has revealed that he is still living in a hotel weeks after taking charge at Stamford Bridge, insisting that his personal comfort is not a priority as he focuses fully on the job.
The former defender, who replaced Enzo Maresca, has enjoyed a strong start to life in west London, winning eight of his first 11 matches in all competitions.
Yet away from the touchline, Rosenior’s routine remains temporary.
“I’m still in the hotel. I’ll probably be there until the end of the season. I don’t have time. I’m focused on this job. My living circumstances aren’t a priority right now,” he said during his pre match press conference.
All Focus on Football
Rosenior admitted the intensity of the role leaves little room for anything else.
“The job never ends. Just a day. I managed to switch off for a day. For my staff as well. It’s important for them to see their families. It’s refreshed everyone and we need it because now we’re coming back into a similar schedule again.”
With fixtures piling up, the Chelsea boss appears determined to pour every ounce of energy into sustaining his early momentum.
Strong Stance on Racism
Beyond results, Rosenior also addressed the racism controversy that erupted during the recent UEFA Champions League clash between SL Benfica and Real Madrid CF.
During the match, Vinícius Júnior reported alleged abuse from Gianluca Prestianni, prompting the referee to activate the anti racism protocol and pause the game for 10 minutes.
Prestianni later told UEFA that he had used a homophobic slur rather than a racist one.
Rosenior’s position on the matter was uncompromising.
“If I categorically heard racism and nothing was done about it, I would take my team off the pitch. I wouldn’t play the game.”

Speaking about his own background, he added, “I’m really lucky. I’m mixed heritage. My dad is black, my mum is white. What I learned in my life is everyone is pretty much the same.”
Eyes on the Next Challenge
As Chelsea prepare for another demanding run of fixtures, Rosenior’s focus remains firmly on performances rather than personal comfort.
Meanwhile, in Europe, the return leg between Benfica and Real Madrid looms next week, with the Spanish side holding a slender 1 0 advantage thanks to Vinicius Junior’s decisive strike.
For Rosenior, the message is clear. Results matter. Principles matter more. And for now, home is wherever the job demands.
