The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), has ordered the closure of the institution with immediate effect.
The management directed all students to vacate the campus by 6pm on Sunday.

The directive was contained in a statement issued by Mr Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, the Acting Registrar of the institution.
The closure followed mounting tension over Saturday’s accident that led to the death of eight students of the institution.
A road mishap in front of the university had resulted in the deaths.
Students of the institution had since then taken to the streets to protest the killing of their colleagues in the accident
It was gathered that three siblings of same parents and students of the University, were said to have been killed in the accident.
It was learnt that the mother of the three children also collapsed and died on hearing the sad news.
The three siblings were said to be in their shop when the trailer which lost control rammed into about five shops and killed twelve people.
Two of the siblings were said to be final year students of the Ondo state owned University.
Also a former student Union President of the University, Adesomoju Samuel Tobi, a final year law student was also said to be one of the victims.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, visited the scene and expressed displeasure over the incident.
He commiserated with the families of victims, describing the trailer accident as a tragedy on the part of host community; the Management of the University and the Nigerian Students at large.
He said the colleagues of the deceased have been placated not to take law into their own hands.
