President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at the National Assembly for the presentation of the N19.76 trillion 2023 Appropriation Bill.
The budget presentation, which is the last before he hands over to his successor, is taking place at the improvised House of Representatives chamber.
Buhari walked into the chamber around 10.05am with retinue of aides and ministers and the event started immediately, with the national anthem.
The Reps’ improvised chamber in Room 0.28 New Building has a capacity of 118 seats. It is expanded by an upper deck provision in Room 231 with a capacity of 236 seats. The rooms are connected audio-visually with large screens.
Entry into the complex is limited as special accreditation arrangements were made for journalists, security agents and members of staff on duty for the presentation.
Other staff members, who are not involved in the planning and logistics, banks and other businesses in the complex were asked to close shops during the president’s visit.
