Every dealings with the use of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria has been prohibited henceforth, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said.
The central bank gave this fresh warning in a statement on Friday signed by its Director of Banking Supervision, Bello Hassan.
CBN said the prohibition order takes effect immediately.
The statement also said all accounts operating in cryptocurrencies exchange will be closed immediately.
