Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has revealed why his team overcame Villarreal 3-2 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final in Spain on Tuesday night.

Liverpool overcame Villarreal 3-0 in Spain, thanks to goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz, and Sadio Mane in the second half.

Villarreal did score in the first half through Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin.

And Klopp feels Liverpool overcame Unai Emery’s team because his players were themselves in the second half of the game.

The German said at his post-match press conference: “First half all of a sudden we were not ourselves, but in the second half we were ourselves and that’s why we won the game.

“Yes of course, Luis, what a goal and he had a few more situations.

“I think the first one he takes with a bicycle kick, if he takes that on the chest he can score already. So yeah, top performance.”

Liverpool will now play the winner between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28.
