Four well-known Nigerian gospel singers tragically lost their lives in a devastating car accident along the Ikorodu/Sagamu Road in Ogun State.
The victims have been identified as Evangelist Ayodeji Kekerejesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina, according to Florence Okupe, Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The gospel singers, who were reportedly from the same family, were traveling in one of two vehicles that collided, resulting in their instant deaths at the scene.
In a statement, Okupe expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly by avoiding over-speeding.
The accident reportedly involved multiple vehicles and claimed over 24 lives.
Preliminary investigations pointed to over speeding and poor visibility as contributing factors to the fatal crash.
This tragic accident has cast a dark cloud over the Nigerian gospel music industry, with the lives of these promising young talents cut short in their prime.
They were reportedly enroute a ministry assignment at the time of the incident.
Following the announcement of his death, tributes have poured in on social media from followers, church members and colleagues.
The founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain International Ministry, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, in a statement on his Facebook page said: “UNQUESTIONABLE GOD!!
