Liverpool and Chelsea cruised into FA Cup Fourth Round with Victories over Accrington Stanley, Morecambe

Liverpool progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a dominant 4-0 win over League Two side Accrington Stanley while Chelsea recorded 5-0 victory over Morecambe FC.

At Anfield, the scoreline, however, did not fully reflect the resilience of the visitors, who frustrated Liverpool for nearly 30 minutes in the first half. A slick counter-attacking move eventually broke the deadlock, with Diogo Jota tapping in to give the Reds the lead.

Just before the break, Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled Liverpool’s advantage with a stunning strike from the right side of the box, curling the ball over Accrington goalkeeper Billy Crellin and into the far top corner.

Though the result seemed secured, Stanley had a couple of chances to reduce the deficit. Josh Woods’ strike hit the crossbar, and Donald Love’s header went just over the top.

In the final moments, Liverpool’s substitutes, Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa, completed the scoring, with Chiesa netting his first goal for the club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea delivered a dazzling 5-0 performance to comfortably defeat Morecambe. Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Felix each scored a brace, while Christopher Nkunku added a fifth to complete the dominant victory.
