A Magistrates’ Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, on Tuesday cleared Abdulazeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, of any wrongdoing in connection with the death of Aloba Oladimeji IleriOluwa, also known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, who delivered the verdict after reviewing the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of Lagos, stated that the musician had no case to answer.
Also freed by the court were music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.

However, the DPP confirmed it would proceed with the prosecution of two individuals: auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who treated Mohbad, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of the late artist. Both will face charges of reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015. They are set to be tried in the same Magistrates’ Court.
