The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a formally notified the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) of its planned national convention.
The notification letter dated 2nd February, 2022 and jointly signed by the Chairman of APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni and Secretary, John Akpanudoedehe, which was obtained by PlatinumPost in Abuja on Thursday, said the convention would hold on 26 February.
Parts of the notification letter read : “This is to inform the Commission that our great party has scheduled to hold its national convention on Saturday 26th February 2022.
“This serves as formal notification pursuant to the provision of Section 85 of the Electoral Act (2010) as amended.
“Kindly arrange for your officials to monitor the exercise accordingly.”
