Track and field legend, Usain Bolt has heaped plaudits on Tobi Amusan after the Nigerian made history on the final day of the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America.
Amusan beat other athletes including Olympic Champion, Casmine Camacho-Quinn to a Gold medal in the 100m Women’s hurdles.
The 25-year-old raced to the first position with a time of 12.06s.
The victory makes the Ogun State-born athlete the first Nigerian nay African to claim a Gold medal in the event.
Gloria Alozie won a Silver medal in the event in Sevilla in 1999.
Bolt, who was once the fastest man in the world took to social media to celebrate Amusan.
“Superb #Tobi,” the Jamaican wrote on his Twitter handle.
