Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee has suspended three erring members for allegedly conducting unruly manners inimical to the progress of the party and for violating its constitution.

State Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker Committee Emmanuel Goa’r, who stated this while speaking with reporters at the party secretariat in Jos, said the suspended members – Vincent Wadung, Moses Dung Nyam and Kenneth Dung – were expected to face a disciplinary committee.

He said the Senator Tunde Ogbeha Caretaker Committee also expressed strong commitment towards conducting free, fair and credible state party congress in Plateau State.

According to him, in as much as the Caretaker Committee is saddled with the responsibility of repositioning the party ahead of the State Congress slated for Saturday, the committee is duty-bound to maintain discipline among members in line with the party’s constitution.

“In the course of our assignment as the Caretaker Committee, we faced myriad of challenges and were able to overcome them. PDP is a well-structured political party; it has the constitution guiding its operations. And that is why the party is quite different from any other political party and the reason why the party is still standing.

“For this reason, three members of the party, namely Vincent Wokdung, Moses Dung Nyam, and Kenneth Dung, all of which are from Jos South Local Government Area have been suspended. They have received their letters of suspension. They are to face disciplinary committee,” he said.

On the party’s State Congress slated for Saturday, Goa’r said issues raised before the coming of the caretaker committee have been resolved and disposed of, adding that stakeholders, including members, have agreed to put issues in contention behind them and work for the progress of the party.

He added that the party’s National Secretariat has extended the sales of forms to give every party member equal opportunity to contest.
