Burnley boss, Vincent Kompany, , is said to have a “verbal agreement” to join Bayern Munich.

Official discussions have commenced between the two clubs as Bayern seeks a successor to Thomas Tuchel, who recently departed from his role.

While talks between Kompany and Bayern have shown promise, no final agreement has been reached as of yet. The Belgian manager is keen on the move to Bayern, and discussions between the parties have been described as concrete and positive. However, the deal remains pending.

Despite Kompany’s challenging season with Burnley, which saw the club relegated from the Premier League, Bayern’s interest in him remains strong. Sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have identified him as a target, appreciating his experience and potential contribution to the club.

Bayern’s pursuit of Kompany has taken precedence over other candidates, including Mauricio Pochettino, who recently parted ways with Chelsea. Although Bayern has gathered information on Pochettino, discussions have yet to occur, as their focus remains on securing Kompany.

Kompany’s familiarity with the Bundesliga, having previously played for Hamburg before his tenure at Manchester City, adds to his appeal for Bayern. Despite rejections from other candidates like Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann, and Austria’s Ralf Rangnick, Bayern remains determined to find the right successor for Tuchel.
