A 65-year-old woman, Tunmise Oluyemi, resident in Ilesa, Osun State, has been killed on her farm by suspected ritualists.

The spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, in a statement on Tuesday, said the assailants removed one of the eyes of the deceased.

She said Tunmise, who went missing last Saturday, was found dead on her farm in the Fadahunsi area of Ilesa on Monday.

She said, “It was reported around 1pm on Monday to the police that one Tunmise Oluyemi, aged 65, who went missing last Saturday, was found dead on her farm at the Fadahunsi area of Ilesa around 11.30am.

“One of the eyes of the deceased was plucked out by the yet-to-be-identified assailants.”

Opalola said policemen had visited the scene, adding that the complainant, Dare Oluyemi, and other children of the deceased refused to release the corpse to the police.

“They refused to allow the police take the corpse to a mortuary. They threatened violence and insisted they wanted to bury her,” she added.
