Rivers, Kaduna, Ekiti, Others Get New Commissioners of Police

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and posting of six new Commissioners of Police to various states.

In the latest appointments, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed has been posted to Nasarawa State Command, CP Rabin Mohammed to Kaduna State Command, and CP Adepoju Olugbenga Adewale to Rivers State Command.

Other new appointees include CP Mohammed Baba Azare, who is now posted to Akwa Ibom State Command; CP Wilfred Olatokunbo Afolabi, who will take charge of Ondo State Command; and CP Joseph Eribo, formerly of Akwa Ibom State, now appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Ekiti State.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations, the Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), expressed that the new appointees should view their appointments as a call to national service. He urged them to remain dedicated to the Government’s efforts to stabilise the nation and ensure states are free from crime and criminality.

DIG Argungu further stated that the PSC would continue to monitor their progress and support their success in these new roles. He also charged the new Commissioners to repay the government’s trust by rededicating themselves to the service of their country.
