Actress Elizabeth Onuwaje aka Lizzy Gold has blamed inaccurate information on social media for the recent upsurge in abduction of celebrities.
She made this assertion following the recent kidnap of two of her senior colleagues Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel in Enugu on Friday.
Using herself as a good example, Lizzy explained wasn’t as affluent as the information on Wikipedia suggests about her.
Tagging online publications as ‘exaggerations,’ the film star urged individuals to stop accepting them.
Lizzy included a screenshot of her supposed biography online which claimed she reportedly has a net worth of $400,000 (about N285 million); a report she has now refuted.
Captioning the post, she wrote: “This is one of the reasons actors are being kidnapped ..they think we are so rich …I need to arrest the person behind these lies…
“I am working hard to be wealthy but I’m currently not close to any of that amount mentioned there… I nor get money ooo. I be hustler ooo …
“I Dey even find who go dash me money …pls do not believe anything you read on the internet…”
