President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi, among others, have extended their praises to the President of Dangote Industries Limited, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and HiTech Construction for their pivotal roles in completing the Oworonshoki-Apapa Expressway.
Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu expressed elation over the completion of the 37-kilometer road, initiated in 2018 by the previous administration and finalized in 2024, emphasizing its significance for all Nigerians.
He stressed the importance of Lagos State to Nigeria and commended Mr. Dangote for his initiative, referring to the collaboration with HiTech as the “Tenth Wonder of The World.”
He also acknowledged the broader developmental strides across Nigeria under the renewed hope agenda, extending congratulations to Minister David Umahi for his dedication to national infrastructure.

Dangote, addressing the dire state of the road before December 2018, highlighted its detrimental effects on goods evacuation, market access, and economic supply chains. He credited the successful completion to the collaboration between the public and private sectors, facilitated by the visionary framework of Executive Order 007.
Dangote Group, he said, mobilized capital under the Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme, leading to the comprehensive refurbishment of the road and its expansion to 10 lanes. He reiterated the Group’s commitment to national development and urged a reevaluation of the scheme to ensure its viability for private sector participants.
Engr Umahi praised the Dangote Group for delivering a well-executed project, noting the quality of Dangote Cement as a testament to the road’s value. He recounted his personal experience of being trapped for eight hours on the road and applauded the use of new technology, including solar-powered streetlights.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, highlighted the significant impact of the road’s completion, citing the relocation of approximately 20 companies from the Apapa axis due to its previous condition. He expressed gratitude to Dangote and HiTech for their exceptional work, noting a drastic reduction in travel time from over seven hours to just around one hour.
