Ijesaland entered a defining new chapter on Thursday January 1 2026 as the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland His Imperial Majesty Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III announced the appointment of a high powered Advisory Council Private Advisory Team and key Palace Officials to drive his development vision for the kingdom.
The appointments which take immediate effect signal an early and deliberate move by the monarch to build a results driven governance structure anchored on experience professionalism and broad based representation.
According to a statement issued by the Palace on Wednesday the new structure is designed to strengthen palace administration and support the seamless execution of the Owa Obokun Adimula’s comprehensive and inclusive development agenda for Ijesaland.

At the core of the new structure is a 15 member Advisory Council made up of distinguished Ijesas drawn from business industry public service the professions academia and the knowledge economy. The Palace said the calibre of appointees reflects their track record at the commanding heights of their respective callings and their contributions to national development as well as the progress of Ijesaland.
Also appointed is a six member Private Advisory Team comprising revered traditional rulers senior statesmen and respected technocrats who will provide close counsel to the monarch on strategic and sensitive matters.
To ensure effective day to day administration the Owa also named six Palace Officials to oversee key operational areas including administration procurement logistics media and traditional and chieftaincy affairs.
The Palace noted that the appointments mark only the first phase of a broader institutional strengthening process with further appointments to be announced in due course.
Congratulating the appointees His Imperial Majesty described the moment as historic and charged them to see their selection as a call to service rather than privilege.
“I am proud and impressed by your pedigrees and commitment to the peace progress and prosperity of Ijesaland” the Owa Obokun Adimula said.
