Errol Musk, father of the world’s wealthiest individual, Elon Musk, has revealed that his son has expressed interest in purchasing Liverpool Football Club, though no offers have been made at this time.
In a revealing interview, Errol Musk was asked by a reporter whether his son had shown any inclination towards acquiring the Reds. “Has he expressed a desire to buy Liverpool Football Club?” the reporter inquired.
“I can’t comment on that. They’ll raise the price,” Errol Musk chuckled. When pressed again, he confirmed that Elon had indeed shown interest in purchasing the club from its current owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG).

“Oh, yes. But that doesn’t mean he’s buying it,” he said. “He would like to, yes, obviously. Anybody would want to – so would I!”
Errol went on to explain the family’s emotional connection to Liverpool: “His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know.”
FSG, who acquired the club for £300m in 2010, have previously sought outside investment but have never seriously considered a full sale.
Last May, Forbes valued Liverpool at £4.3bn, making it the fourth most valuable football club globally. This, however, represents only a fraction of Elon Musk’s total estimated net worth, which is around £340bn.
