Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has made it clear: she will not abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), despite repeated approaches from figures linked to the presidency and even some of her colleagues.

The first-term senator spoke candidly on the Mic On Podcast, hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, dismissing speculation that she might defect amid the internal crises rocking the PDP.

Asked if joining the APC would be an option should her party’s situation worsen, Akpoti-Uduaghan responded firmly: “No, I wouldn’t. I was in APC briefly at the start of everything. Why should I go and join APC? I don’t have to follow the bandwagon. I don’t have to succumb to threats or fall for cajolery.”

She revealed that the approaches have been frequent, including overtures from the presidency and some colleagues. “As recently as yesterday, one of them jokingly said, ‘We’re still expecting you, we would love to have you.’ And I told him, I love my space, I love my peace here. I’m okay with my party for now, so I don’t think I have to join the APC,” she added.
