Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sharply criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accusing him of being a “hypocrite” and a “shameless politician” with double loyalty.
In a statement reacting to Wike’s recent media comments on the opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills, Governor Mohammed described the FCT minister’s actions as a dangerous precedent for Nigerian politics.
He accused Wike of undermining the very party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), that helped shape his political career.
Governor Mohammed, who is also the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, called out Wike’s “erratic behavior” and “opportunistic alliances,” stressing that Wike’s personal ambitions had overshadowed loyalty and principles. He pointed out that Wike’s divisive nature and self-serving politics made him an unreliable ally.

“You are a hypocrite, a shameless politician who undermines the party that made you,” Mohammed said, adding that Wike’s latest media outburst was yet another example of his transactional approach to politics, where loyalty and collective interests were disregarded in favor of self-interest.
The Governor further emphasized that Wike’s criticism of his stance on the Tax Reform Bills was baseless, labeling it hypocritical given Wike’s own political maneuvering.
