A lecturer at the Department of Business Management at the Covenant University Ota, Dr. Stephen Ukenna, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old student (name withheld) of the Institution.
The 41-year-old Lecturer was said to have invited the student to his office to take part in a surprise birthday party he was organising for one of his friends.
According to the report of the student as was released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement made available to journalists, the randy lecturer immediately locked the door to his office upon arrival of the students.
He was said to have forcefully had the carnal knowledge of the student on a table in his office.
According to the report, the young lady immediately reported the incident to her parents on phone subsequent upon which a complaint was lodged at the Ota Area Command by the parents.
Oyeyemi explained that the Area Commander, Muyideen Obe, deployed his team to the school where the lecturer was arrested and was said to have confessed to the crime later.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, according to the PPRO, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
