The chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Juma’at Mosque in Abuja, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, has been sacked by the mosque’s steering committee for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari over the last Monday night’s attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train.
Recall that the Imam, during his sermon on Friday, criticised President Buhari over his failure to visit Kaduna after the terrorist attack.

He added that the president visited the state for campaigns but refused to visit after the bomb attack on the passenger train. This however led to his suspension.
It was further learnt that on Monday afternoon, the mosque’s steering committee declared him sacked ascribing their latest decision to him not showing remorse.
The prosecutor further stated that the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code.
The defendant however, denied committing the offence.
The Chief Magistrate, Auwal Yusuf-Suleiman, while ruling the case ordered that the defendant be remanded in a correctional centre.
The case was adjourned to May 26 for further mention.
