Suspected burglars on Monday invade the residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, carting away valuables.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Monday night confirmed an attempt to burgle the residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, in the early hours of the day.
However, it was learnt that the robbers thoroughly ransacked the residence of the chief of staff and an administrative officer at the presidency, Abdullahi Maikano. The invaders allegedly carted away money and other valuable assets from both houses.
Shehu, while reacting to media reports on the incident, said the attempt was not fruitful.

“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident,” he tweeted on his twitter handle @GarShehu last night.
Prof. Gambari is said to have preferred to live inside Aso Rock to get close to the President instead of an official residence at the Defence House.
The incident, at a highly secured area, has elicited concern over the rising insecurity across the country
