Burna Boy, Chika gets 2021 Grammy Award nomination


Nigeria’s music, star Burna Boy is confirmed to perform at the 63rd GRAMMYs Award Premiere Ceremony which will take place Sunday, March 14.

His album ‘Twice as Tall’ is nominated for the category of Best Global Music Award.

Best Global Music Album category is for albums that contain at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental Global Music recordings.

Another Nigerian nominated for the grammy is Jane Chika Oranika popularly known as Chika.

She is among the nominees for the best new artist 2021 Grammy Awards.

Chika is a 23-year-old rapper, model, and actress from Montgomery, Alabama.

She was born on March 9, 1997 and her parent are Nigerian immigrants who raised her in America.

The lead for this year’s Grammy Awards are Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa.

Beyoncé leads with nine nominations overall, including four for Black Parade, one protest anthem she released during the height of Black Lives Matter protests this summer.

Taylor Swift has six nominations, and she might win the album of the year for the third time with her lockdown album ‘Folklore’.

Dua Lipa also picks up six nominations for her disco-tinged Future Nostalgia.
