Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has dismissed five commissioners from his administration.
Mr. Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), announced this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Jos.
The sacked commissioners include Mr. Chrysanthus Dawam, who headed the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Noel Nkup, who was responsible for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and Ms. Jamila Tukur, who oversaw the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality.

The SSG also confirmed the dismissal of Prof. Obed Goselle, who headed the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Mr. Sule Haruna, who was in charge of the Ministry of Commerce.
Although Jatau did not provide reasons for their dismissal, he revealed that the governor had approved the nomination of five new commissioner-designates.
“The nominees are Mrs. Joy Ramnap, Dr. Sunday Alex, Slyvanus Dongtoe, Dr. Nicolas Bamnong, and Cornelius Doeyok,” Jatau said in the statement.
