The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has announced an extension to the deadline for recruitment applications, now set for 17th March 2025.
This extension comes after some applicants faced technical difficulties during the registration process, which prevented them from completing their applications within the original timeframe.
The recruitment process, which began on 27th January 2025, was initially scheduled to close on 10th March.
However, in light of the challenges faced by some applicants, the FCSC has decided to extend the deadline by a week to ensure that all eligible Nigerians have an opportunity to apply. The new closing date for submitting applications will now be 17th March 2025.
Hassan Taiwo, the spokesperson for the FCSC, confirmed the extension in an official advertisement published on Monday in two national dailies. In the statement, he noted: “The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the closing date for receiving applications for various vacancies in the Federal Civil Service to Monday, 17th March 2025, to allow more eligible candidates to participate in the recruitment process.”
The FCSC has also made sure that the updated information is readily accessible to the public. The details of the extension can now be found on the FCSC’s official website and have been published in national newspapers, including *The Sun* and *The Nation* on Monday, 10th March 2025. The information was also included in *Daily Trust* on Tuesday, 11th March 2025.

Taiwo also encouraged qualified Nigerians to take full advantage of the extension and apply for the various vacancies available within the Federal Civil Service. He assured all prospective applicants that the recruitment process would remain transparent and merit-based, with the aim of selecting the most qualified individuals for the positions available.
The extension is expected to give more candidates the chance to submit their applications and participate in the merit-driven selection process, which is a key feature of the FCSC’s recruitment policy. The Commission continues to emphasise its commitment to fairness and transparency, ensuring that the recruitment process remains open to all eligible Nigerians.
