Tanko Yakasai, an elder statesman, has confirmed that his son, Salihu Tanko is in the custody of security agents.
Salihu, who was recently reinstated Special Adviser on Media to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, was reported missing Friday evening, few hours after he asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign if he (Buhari) cannot protect Nigerians.
Many had feared that he had been abducted, but in a telephone conversation, Tanko Yakasai confirmed that “he is with security not kidnappers”.
This is coming after Salihu took to his Twitter handle to chide the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government at all levels, calling for their resignation.

The tweet suspected to have put Salihu in trouble, read in part; “Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number one duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives and properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign.”
Recall that Salihu was once suspended by Ganduje last year for an “unguarded utterance” on the person of President Muhammad Buhari on social media platform.
It is uncertain the exact security body responsible for his detention at the time of filing this report.
