Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has reconciled former Plateau State governor Jonah Jang and Jeremiah Useni.

Both Jang and Useni, who was a former military governor of old Bendel State had been at dagger-drawn over the control of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State.

But in a post on his Facebook page on Thursday, Wike said he has met with the two party chieftains and they agreed to work together ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The Rivers governor also expressed optimism that the PDP will triumph against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 polls.

His said : “After meeting with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Jos, Plateau State yesterday, I am glad the immediate past Governor of Plateau State, H.E Jonah Jang and former Governor of old Bendel State, Senator Jeremiah Useni have agreed to bury their differences and forge a common alliance for the victory of the PDP in Plateau State and to save Nigeria from APC’s maladministration.

“Rebuilding the PDP is the critical task all members of the party should be focused on. If the party is united, we are sure of coasting home in 2023, not just in Plateau State but also in the national election.”
