Afrinvest Foundation has unveiled a 35 seat Information and Communication Technology, ICT, centre at the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

The centre, powered by a 15 kilowatt solar system and internet connectivity, is designed to expand access to digital education and learning opportunities for young Nigerians.

Group Managing Director of Afrinvest (West Africa), Prince Ike Chioke, disclosed this in Kano during a stakeholders’ symposium themed ‘Wealth, Faith and Legacy’.

Chioke said the project reflected the company’s commitment to supporting communities and promoting education and digital inclusion.

He said the palace has a repository of more than 300,000 books which are being digitised to make materials on Nigerian history and culture, particularly the Kano Emirate, more accessible.

According to him, the ICT centre would give young people access to digital resources while supporting efforts to preserve historical and cultural materials.

Chioke also highlighted Afrinvest’s investment services in Kano, including digital platforms through which customers can invest in Nigerian equities, Federal Government savings bonds, commercial papers and Treasury bills.

He said the company had introduced an Initial Public Offering feature on its Afrinvestor app to simplify participation in public offers.

Chioke noted that Afrinvest was among the issuing houses working on the proposed Dangote Refinery IPO, adding that investors in Kano would be able to participate digitally through the platform when the offer opens.

He also announced the availability of Sharia compliant investment products, including the Afrinvest Halal Fund, managed under the guidance of a committee of experts to ensure compliance with Islamic principles.

The company also offers Islamic trust products aimed at helping Muslim clients grow and transfer wealth to future generations.

Chioke said Afrinvest’s Kano business had recorded significant growth since the company established an office in the state two years ago, with thousands of customers using its digital investment platform.

He added that the Plutus Neo platform allows customers to save and invest in dollars while accessing the United States stock market.
