The Federal Government has commenced recruitment into the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant cadres.
The recruitment exercise opened on July 28, 2026, and will close on August 10, 2026. Successful applicants will proceed to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and interview later in August.

The Federal Character Commission announced the exercise on its official X account, stressing that the recruitment is completely free and that applications must be submitted through the official NAQS recruitment portal.

Interested applicants should:
- Visit the official NAQS recruitment portal: https://recruitment.naqs.gov.ng/
- Create an account or log in.
- Select their preferred cadre and position.
- Complete the online application form with accurate personal and educational details.
- Upload all required credentials and supporting documents.
- Review the application carefully before submitting.
The agency warned that applications submitted after the deadline or outside the prescribed process will be disqualified.

Educational Qualifications
Chief Superintendent of Quarantine Care
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine
- Degree in Law or a relevant Master’s degree
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II
- First degree from a recognised institution
- NYSC discharge certificate
Inspectorate Cadre
- OND or NCE
Assistant Cadre
- SSCE, NECO or GCE O’Level with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
General Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Nigerian by birth.
- Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Be medically fit with a certificate from a government hospital.
- Pass a drug test.
- Have no criminal conviction.
- Not belong to any secret cult or society.
- Be free from financial embarrassment.
- Be computer literate.
Physical Requirements
- Male applicants must be at least 1.65 metres tall and have a minimum chest measurement of 0.87 metres.
- Female applicants must be at least 1.55 metres tall.

Who Should Not Apply
According to the agency, the following categories are ineligible:
- Persons with severe speech impairment.
- Persons with hearing impairment.
- Persons with total blindness.
- Persons with obesity.
- Persons with limb deformities and other specified physical or medical conditions.
- Pregnant women due to the physical demands of the recruitment process.
