The Algeria Football Federation, has tempted Super Eagles coach to the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Jose Peseiro, with an offer of $100,000 (N200m) to take over the Desert Foxes (Les Fennecs)

The FAF ended their association with Djamel Belmadi who led them to AFCON glory in 2019 but failed to go beyond the first round of the competition in 2021 and 2023.

According to reports, the FAF has indicated their interest in the Portuguese gaffer whose deal ended with Nigeria after AFCON 2023.

It was also gathered that there are offers from other African as well as some Asian countries.

Peseiro who confirmed the offer said he will take his time before announcing his next job.

“I received a lot of offers after the African Cup final,” Peseiro reportedly said.“I received an offer from the FAF but I will first rest and my agent will take care of it.”

However, there are insinuations that Peseiro is still interested in continuing with the Super Eagles, especially as the country resumes qualification for the World Cup.

Peseiro agreed to a 29% cut in his salary ahead of 2023 AFCON.

Peseiro’s initial contract with the Nigeria Football Federation was agreed on $70,000 a month, but it was slashed to $50,000/monthly after the federation said they could no longer afford his previous salary in the build up to the 2023 AFCON.
