Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Plateau North, filed a petition in the Senate, prompting the investigation.

Senator Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, then referred the petition to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, which is chaired by Senator Ayo Akinyelure, PDP, Ondo North, and is expected to report back in four weeks. Umar will have to appear before the Committee as well as the security guard as a result of this progress.

Remember that at Banex Plaza in Wuse, Abuja, CCT Chairman Umar Danladi was captured on camera violently assaulting a security guard, Clement Sagwak.

Umar was seen in the viral video attacking a security guard who had told him to park his car properly at the Plaza.
