Another fire outbreak destroys Polaris bank, others in Lagos

Another fire outbreak which occurred on Thursday morning at Iga-Idungaran area of Lagos Island has destroyed property worth millions of naira.

Top among the properties destroyed by the early morning fire is a mother’s care warehouse and a branch of Polaris bank in the area.

No death was recorded but many locals who formed the initial rescue team sustained injuries.

Ibrahim Farinloye, Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State who Confirmed the incident said a warehouse of mother’s care was completely burnt.

He also said part of the building belonging to Polaris bank in the area was also affected.

“Rescue team from NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Police, State and Federal Fire service officials and Medica team from Lagos State Emergency Ambulance (LASEMBUS) were on ground to manage the situation” he added.
