Honourable Musa Sarkin Adar, a member of House of Representatives and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has alleged that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not a Fulani man.

The Reps member on Arise TV on Thursday said the APC has better chances at winning the 2023 general elections.

He said: “I can make projections that Tinubu can win his election based on performance. People should consider competence not sentiments. What will build a nation is patriotism not sentiments. PDP wants to divide us on religious and tribal lines. They will say that Atiku is a northerner and so what. Atiku is a northerner but he is not Fulani.

“He was the vice president for eight years; he should tell us what he has done. He has left PDP how many times? Most of them are there for positions. Some of them, apart from Governor Nyesom Wike, have left the PDP many times. Tell me how many of them have been in PDP since 1998? All of them hibernated from one party or the other.”

While talking about what he called the propaganda of the PDP concerning the reception of Shekarau in Kano State recently, Adar said: “They crowded Kano with the people they imported from the various North-West states for propaganda’s sake. If the PDP will be sincere to itself, they will go back to the memory lane of the PDP performance in Kano State from 2011 to date.

“I know that what they are doing is because Ibrahim Shekarau decamped from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join the PDP. They should know that Ibrahim Shekarau didn’t decamp from the APC to PDP. He decamped from the NNPP to the PDP which was a fall out of the PDP.”

He added, “Before Dr. Musa Kwankwaso joined the NNPP he was with the PDP and he is the person who has a large crowd there. Since Mallam Shekarau joined the PDP from the NNPP he will be depleting the NNPP not the APC.”

He said that the PDP brought all their stakeholders from the North-West zone to Kano to make the event colourful as though they had done a big catch.

“They should go to archives and check the reception that they gave to Atiku in 2019 when Kwankwaso was there and the reception they got now that they received Shekarau.

“Now that Mallam Shekarau has decamped from the NNPP to join the PDP, I don’t think there will be a significant difference. Until now gladiators were Umar Ganduje and Kwankwaso, in fact when you are making analysis Shekarau has not been seen as much of a factor in Kano politics,” he said.
