Twenty-four housemates entered the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house with one clear instruction from Biggie — “Show Ya Sef.”
Just one week into the competition, the house has already delivered major twists, fierce competition, emotional moments, budding romance and the season’s first clashes.
Here are the seven biggest moments from the opening week.
1. Biggie introduces the ‘Gambit’ twist
The biggest surprise of the season came with the unveiling of The Gambit, a new gameplay twist that changes the race for the ₦160 million grand prize.
Under the twist, one male and one female housemate chosen by viewers will remain in the house until the finale with guaranteed immunity from eviction.
However, they will be ineligible to compete for the grand prize.

The revelation came immediately after the season’s first nominations, leaving many housemates stunned.
2. Chimsom Chuka becomes first Head of House
Chimsom Chuka emerged as the first Head of House after recording the fastest time in the men’s challenge, while Abi won the women’s contest to become Deputy Head of House.
But the HoH victory came with an unexpected twist.
For the first time in BBNaija history, the Head of House did not automatically occupy the luxury HoH lounge. Instead, Chimsom picked Tram through a lucky dip, and Tram selected Sheba to enjoy the luxury privileges.
Although Chimsom retained immunity, someone else enjoyed the exclusive lounge.
3. Chimsom records the season’s first double win
Chimsom’s impressive start continued when he won the first Arena Games.
He completed all four rounds in the fastest time to become the first housemate this season to win both the Head of House challenge and the Arena Games. Sultex finished as runner-up.
4. Martins celebrates the first birthday in the house
The first birthday celebration of the season belonged to Martins.
Housemates organised games and a lounge party, while Mercedes, who described herself as an “aerial seduction artist,” delivered one of the night’s most talked-about performances.
An emotional Martins later described it as one of the best birthdays of his life.
5. Team Nature claims the first Wager victory
The first Wager task saw Team Nature (the men) compete against Team Nurture (the women) through presentations, rebuttals and closing arguments.
After reviewing both teams’ performances, Biggie declared Team Nature the winners, earning them the season’s first Wager victory and a celebratory pool party.
6. The season’s first romance begins
Romance also found its way into the house as Goddessa and Araga shared the first kiss of Season 11.

However, the relationship immediately appeared uncertain after Goddessa suggested she did not want to feel tied down by one person’s constant attention, leaving viewers divided over whether the connection would survive.
7. The first major clash erupts
Not everything has been smooth sailing.
Abi and Neche were involved in the season’s first heated disagreement during preparations for the Wager task.
Tension also grew over Chimsom Chuka’s leadership style after he warned housemates that disobeying the Head of House’s directives would attract consequences, a comment that sparked mixed reactions inside the house.
With only one week gone, BBNaija Season 11 has already delivered enough drama, surprises and memorable moments to suggest that the “Show Ya Sef” edition is only just getting started.
