Buhari condoles with victims of Lagos building collapse

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed condolences to the families of those who died, were injured or were impacted by the building collapse in Lagos State’s Ebute Metta region.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Monday in Abuja, the president is very saddened by the unfortunate tragedy, which is currently under investigation.

Buhari praised the first responders, national and sub-national emergency services in Lagos State, and compassionate Nigerians for their bravery and dedication.

He stated that their prompt measures following the fall of the three-story structure resulted in the rescue of multiple people, including several youngsters.

Regrettably, the President stated that the country’s construction catastrophes have grown increasingly unsightly.

He, therefore, urged the relevant state authorities to work closely with professional bodies to put a halt to these unfortunate but preventable incidents.

Buhari wished those injured a speedy recovery and prayed for divine assistance in the ongoing search and rescue operations
