Former media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmed has commended the security operatives who rescued about 50 children kidnapped and kept in Ondo church.

Thelead.ng earlier reported that a large number of children allegedly abducted by yet-to-be-identified persons were found in a church’s basement at the Valentino Area of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the kids are alleged victims of a kidnapping syndicate, kept in the underground of the church.

Reacting, Bashir, in a post on his social media handles, condemned the development, stressing that the Nigeria police and Amotekun vigilante group who rescued the victims should be commended.

He wrote, “As we all condemned the cruel act of kidnapping about 50 innocent children and keeping them for over six months in underground confinement of a Church in Ondo, we should also commend the officers of the Nigerian Police, Amotekun and any vigilante group that helped the authority to rescue the victims.

“While the authorities are doing their parts, we should all stand with those innocent children.

“Church as a place of worship should not be on the list of places to expect such cruelty”.
