The government of Katsina State has inaugurated the construction of a 3-kilometre road linking Katsina and Maradi in Niger Republic.
The road project will pass through Jibiyar Maje in Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State to Tashar Aibo in Maradi.
While handing over the road to the contractor, the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Tasiu Dandagoro, represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, EBilyaminu Albaba, said the road will cost the state over N900 million. KATSINA POST reports.
Engineer Albaba also said the road is expected to be completed in 6 months.
Also speaking, the representative of Niger Republic, Abdullahi Mamman, commended the Katsina State government for the project, adding that the road will further cement the bond between the two sister countries and improve their economic activities.
Also, the representative of the company that will carry out the work, Jahad Malak assured the Katsina State government of timely completion of the project.
