Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed the five essential items he never travels without, naming his wedding ring as the most valuable because it represents his commitment to his wife.
The award-winning singer made the disclosure during an interview with Mystery Fashionist, where he opened up about his love for fashion, shopping and family.
According to Davido, his passion for dressing well dates back to his childhood, although his busy schedule now leaves him little time to shop personally.
He explained that he now relies on a stylist but still makes it a point to buy gifts for his wife whenever he visits a store.
“I like to look good since I was young. I like to go shopping. I don’t have the time now; I have my stylist. I bought my wife some heels the other day. Every time I enter a shop, trust me, I’m leaving with something for my wife; she’s the reason I do all this,” he said.
The singer described his wedding ring as his most treasured piece of jewellery, saying it constantly reminds him of the vows he made in marriage.
“My wedding ring is my most precious, most important piece of jewellery because I have a vow to follow. A ring is a symbol to show I have a partner; stay away, I’m taken,” Davido said.
Listing the five essentials he always carries while travelling, the Grammy-nominated artiste named his American passport, Bottega headphones, an 18-karat Rolex wristwatch, his wedding ring and a Cuban link chain weighing more than a kilogram.
He disclosed that the luxury chain is worth almost one million dollars.
Despite owning some of the world’s most expensive accessories, Davido insisted that none holds greater personal value than his wedding ring, which he said symbolises his love, loyalty and commitment to his wife.
