The fuel crisis has struck Lokoja and other parts of Kogi State, with motorists now queuing for several hours to get the premium motor spirit, sometimes known as fuel.

According to report, several filling stations that had sold petrol in the early hours of Monday had to cease dispensing due to a lack of the commodity.

Our reporter further learned that the paucity of petrol in Lokoja and other areas of Kogi State has enabled illicit marketers to profit from the recent occurrences.

Many filling stations are currently closed because individuals who have petrol are hoarding it.

Depending on the location of the items, black marketers are currently selling fuel for N300 to 400 per litre.

Further findings revealed that the regulatory agency in charge of petroleum products in Kogi State has continued to remain silent to checkmate the activities of petroleum marketers who seize every opportunity to extort motorists.

Speaking on the recent development, some motorists told reporters on Monday that things are getting out of hand as life is becoming unbearable in the country.
