FULL LIST: Winners of 2026 NBA National Elections as Badejo-Okusanya Makes History

The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has announced the winners of the 2026 national elections, with Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, emerging as the association’s 33rd President.

Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes (47.18%), defeating Lateef Akangbe, SAN, who polled 7,934 votes (30.39%), and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who garnered 5,855 votes (22.43%).

Her victory makes her only the second woman to lead the Nigerian Bar Association after Priscilla Kuye, who served as president between 1991 and 1992.

According to the ECNBA, 26,184 lawyers voted out of 82,172 registered voters, representing a turnout of 31.86 per cent.

Eastern Zone

  • Chidi Betsy Nnaji – 10,497 votes
  • Daniel Kip – 8,121 votes
  • Jane Omonor Apollos-James – 8,079 votes
  • Dr Ehujuo Kingsley Chukwunonso – 7,811 votes
  • Assam Akpan Assam – 7,610 votes
  • Dr Celestine Nwaokoma Nwankwo – 7,280 votes
  • Joy Obianuju Nnani – 6,519 votes
  • Arinze Celestine Chukwu – 4,675 votes

Northern Zone

  • Huwaila Muhammad Ibrahim – 13,327 votes

Badejo-Okusanya will serve a two-year tenure (2026–2028), succeeding the outgoing NBA leadership after a closely contested election.
