The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday over alleged forgery, impersonation and related offences.
In a fresh eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, filed by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki, Adeyemi and two others are accused of forging official government documents and falsely presenting themselves as officials of a federal agency that does not exist.
The case, filed on November 27, 2025, was initially scheduled for June 16, but proceedings were adjourned after Adeyemi was reported to be indisposed.
Court documents reveal that the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, is among the key witnesses expected to testify during the trial.
Other prosecution witnesses include officials from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, police investigators, civil servants allegedly assigned to the fictitious agency, the owner of a hotel in Abuja and a cleric from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama.
The police also plan to tender several documents as evidence, including an alleged fake presidential appointment letter dated March 8, 2024, a petition submitted by Gbajabiamila on October 17, 2025, investigation reports and correspondence allegedly used by Adeyemi to secure approvals from government institutions.
The documents include requests sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a note verbale, applications to open accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria, requests for self-accounting approval from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, and letters seeking collaboration on land acquisition and office space across Nigeria’s 36 states.
Investigators also listed witness statements, photographs and other documentary evidence they intend to rely on during the trial.
According to the police, Adeyemi allegedly operated the fictitious agency from the second floor of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase III, Abuja, before he was arrested.
The case attracted national attention after President Bola Tinubu directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the activities of the fake agency following its discovery.
