A Chief Magistrate court in Ogba has been urged not to have mercy on 35-year-old Taiwo Aje, arraigned before it for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his three-year-old daughter.
The wife of the accused made the plea on Tuesday during the arraignment.

“My Lord, the man I called my husband is an animal and should be treated as such. How can a man think of having sex with his own daughter- a three-year-old child?” she said amid tears.
The accused who resides, at Holiness Crescent, Aboru, in Iyana Ipaja, area of Lagos, was alleged to have defiled his daughter while his wife was away.
He was arraigned on a two-count charge of rape and defilement and if found guilty might face a life time in a correctional facility.
The police alleged that the accused was caught in the act by his wife.
The prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, said that Investigation shows that the accused removed the girl’s pants and forcefully penetrated her before he was caught by his wife, who raised alarm which attracted other neighbours.
The Court did not take the plea of the accused after the prosecutor asked the Court to refer the matter to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The case was adjourned till August 9, 2021.
