Bandits who kidnapped 26 people from Ungwan Bulus, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna have killed three of the captives, while demanding N20 million ransom to be paid by 2pm Tuesday else they will kill more captives.

The Chief of Ungwan Bulus, Malam Gideon Haruna Goni, disclosed this on Tuesday morning when the Councilor for Sabon Tasha Ward, Chikun Local Government Area, Hon. Dauda Makama, paid him a condolence visit in his palace.

The councillor had visited the area when he got wind of the report that three out of the 26 people kidnapped from Ungwan Bulus have been executed by the bandits because their relations and the community failed to yield to their demand of N20 million ransom.

The councilor, who visited the Chief’s palace to express his sadness over the death of the three captives, was told by the Chief that the terrorists called the community to inform that they should go and pick the corpses of the three corpses killed around Dutse community along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

“The bandits called that if we don’t pay the N20m before 2pm on Tuesday (April 19, 2022), others would be assassinated. They have threatened to kill more, especially women if their demands are not met, 26 were abducted, one was released, three were killed.

“The one that was released was based on health grounds. He has liver problem,” the Chief said.

The Chief lamented that one of the family members of one of those who were kidnapped, said they have been able to raise N7million, but the terrorists insisted on the N20 million or they will keep killing the victims one after the other.
