2023: Ganduje rejects Chief of staff, other Commissioners’ resignation

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has rejected the resignation of his chief of staff, Ali Haruna Makoda and three other Commissioners.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Governor’s Press secretary, Abba Anwar.

No fewer than 53 Commissioners and other aides of Governor Ganduje resigned their appointments over interests to contest elective positions in 2023.

Ganduje, however, rejected the resignation of Nura Muhammed Dankade, Sanusi Said Kiru, and Dr. Aminu Tsanyawa, Commissioners for Budget & Planning, Education and Health,

He directed them to continue carrying out their duties.

The Governor, however, approved the resignation of seven other of his commissioners, namely, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna – The Deputy Governor of Kano State has resigned as the Commissioner for Agriculture, Murtala Sule Garo – Commissioner for Local Government and Traditional Affairs to contest for the governorship of Kano State under the APC, Ibrahim Ahmad Karaye – Commissioner for Culture and Tourism to contest for Karaye / Rogo constituency and Mahmoud Muhammad Santsi – Kano State Commissioner for Transport to contest APC Federal Assembly seat for Gabasawa and Gezawa Local Government Areas

Others are Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso – Commissioner for Rural Development to contest for Kura / Madobi / Garunmallam constituency, Kabiru Ado Lakwaya – Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports to contest Gwarzo da Kabo Local Government Area seat in the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The Governor thanked them for their contribution to the state and wished them well.
