Tinubu Appoints Ganduje, Abe, Afikuyomi, and 39 Others as Board Chairmen

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of 42 new Board Chairpersons for various federal organizations, including prominent figures such as the national chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Rivers state politician, Sen. Magnus Abe, and former Commissioner in Lagos State, Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi.

The list of appointments also includes key leaders in important sectors, with Dr. Ganduje (Kano) named as Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Sen. Abe (Rivers) appointed Chairman of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall, and Sen. Afikuyomi (Lagos) taking over as Chairman of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion.

Other notable appointments include:
– Mr. Hillard Eta (Cross River) as Chairman of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
– Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi (Lagos) as Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA)
– Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu (Kebbi) as Chairman of the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company

– Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi (Lagos) as Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA)
– Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola (Osun) as Chairman of the National Sugar Development Council

All appointments take immediate effect, with Tinubu emphasizing that the roles are non-executive and designed to offer guidance without interfering in the day-to-day management of the respective organizations.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the appointments, which also include a new Managing Director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) and a Director-General for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).

Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu (Kebbi) as Chairman of Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company, and Mr. Festus Fuanter (Plateau) as Chairman of the National Teachers Institute.

In addition, Malam Mustapha Salihu (Adamawa) has been appointed Chairman of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, while Mr. Hamma Kumo (Gombe) will serve as Chairman of the Industrial Training Fund. Further appointments were made across various other critical institutions.

Onanuga stated that all the appointments take immediate effect, emphasizing that the newly appointed board chairs are non-executive positions and should not interfere with the management of the respective organizations.
